American College of Cardiology (ACC)

The American College of Cardiology was founded in 1949 by 13 cardiologists led by Dr. Franz Groedel and Dr. Bruno Kisch and today the ACC has more than 54,000 members around the world.

The Irish Cardiac Society and ACC have enjoyed a strong friendship for over 7 decades. In 2010 the Great Britain and Ireland International chapter of the ACC was formed facilitated by Dr. John Harold (Past-President ACC and the late Dr. Brian Maurer (Past-President ICS). The chapter provides networking opportunities for cardiovascular professionals in Great Britain, Ireland and the US and nurtures educational and research opportunities.
