Brian McGovern Scholarship
The Brian McGovern scholarship valued at €35,000 is a prestigious award bestowed annually by the society to a cardiology fellow to support sub-specialty training in a centre of excellence overseas.
The award is offered competitively to fellows in training who are required to submit a detailed application of their planned training or research (either basic or clinical) with letters of support from their proposed training director at their chosen centre. The applications are adjudicated by an independent panel of appointed cardiologists based on merit of the proposal, CV, training undertaken to date and institution and type of work to be performed.
The successful applicant is formally announced at the Irish Cardiac Society annual meeting and provide an update and review of their work the following year.
The Brian McGovern Scholarship is supported by Daiichi Sankyo Ireland.
