Irish Cardiac Society Minute Book

The original book, which resides in the library of The Royal College of Physicians at Kildare Street, provides a valuable insight into the enthusiasm and efforts made by the founders and early members of the Irish Cardiac Society to expand knowledge and improve practice in the new specialty of cardiology.

Selections from the minutes relating to the early days of the Society are re-produced here in full. Not only are they legible, a tribute to the secretaries of the day, but they clearly demonstrate the foresight and aspirations of the founding members. Passages were chosen because they were germane to the Society’s development. Various decisions and comments are highlighted and reports on the future of cardiology are included in full. Some communications and observations are included as they demonstrate the vicissitudes of professional life.

Postage and Packaging included.
