Travel Home Grant
As part of their sub-speciality training, Cardiology SpR’s spend time abroad learning skills and undertaking research in centres of excellence. By training overseas in a sub-specialty interest trainees enhance their clinical and research skills with a view to contributing to improved patient care and outcomes in Ireland.
During this time abroad SpR’s are expected to submit abstracts and presentation proposals for the annual Irish Cardiac Society Conference & AGM. If accepted, a travel home bursary is provided to part-fund travel expenses for those overseas so that they can attend and present to their cardiology peers.
The ICS annual conference and AGM provides a platform for sharing information with professional peers, networking between SpRs overseas with their colleagues in Ireland fostering links and developing collaborative opportunities.
